The Big Bang, the primordial explosion, because it is the beginning of space and time. If it were something else, or before, there would be space outside of the entire space and time before all time. And that is contradictory in itself, pure nonsense. What no one has to stop to think about the time and space to ask about the nature of science also, to believe. That is just simply no more science, but religion, mysticism, metaphysics, science fiction, fantasy and what people think else to go to absolute limits. In fact, the physical Big Bang theory itself is an idea about something unimaginable, because the "Big Bang" can indeed be considered a foregone fact, but on its own beginning - the beginning of the so-called "Planck time" - the research can not heranzureichen. Whatever may drive people out no further than to pause before the mystery.
